Highways Engineer
Location: Guildford
A multi disciplined consultancy is seeking a Highways Engineer. The responsibilities of the position include highways design including preparation of contract documentation for major motorway widening project, and production of reference*illustrative design; liaising with other functions, including transportation, structures, environmental, geotechnical and ITS. Liaising with other specialist disciplines, preparation of technical reports and tender documentation, assisting with programming and cost planning*monitoring.
Secondary duties include assessment of departures from standards, risk assessment and value engineering including workshops, premilinary design of traffic management, utility diversions and protection, cost estimating, liaison with interested parties.
The candidate will be A graduate of Civil Engineering. With a minimum of 3 years design experience on highways projects. UK major highways project experience Design and Build*Early Contractor Involvement highways design experience is also desireable.
A flexible, strong technical focus is also required.
